You're handing a stranger a private letter. Here is exactly what happens to it. Pigeon & Pen is run by ICE TEA LLC in Florida.

What we collect

• Your letter and signature — the words you type.
• The recipient's name and address — so it can be mailed.
• Your email address — collected by Stripe at checkout, so we can reach you about your order.

That's the lot. We don't ask for your name, your phone number, or an account, because we don't need them.

What we don't collect

No analytics, no advertising pixels, no tracking scripts, no cookies. Your browser keeps a copy of your draft on your own device so you don't lose it if you leave and come back; that never reaches us and clearing your browser data removes it.

We never see your card number. Stripe handles payment and holds those details.

Who can read your letter

One person: the person who writes it. Letters are stored encrypted in transit, are never shown on the website, are never posted publicly or quoted in marketing, and are never used to train anything. The only way to read one is a private admin key held by the owner.

Your words are not put into payment records either. Stripe only ever receives a random reference number, never the letter itself.

How long we keep it

An unpaid draft is deleted automatically twenty-four hours after you write it. A paid order — your words and the delivery address — is deleted automatically ninety days after you place it. That's long enough to write it, mail it and honour the thirty-day re-send guarantee, and not a day longer. The deletion is set when the order is created, so it happens whether or not anyone remembers to do it.

The record that a sale happened stays with Stripe, because tax rules require it. Your letter is not part of that record.

Ask us to delete your letter at any time and we will, unless it's already been written and mailed — at which point the paper is out of our hands anyway.

Who else is involved

• Stripe — payments and your email address.
• Vercel — hosting.
• Upstash — the database the order sits in.
• The United States Postal Service — who carry the envelope.

Nobody else. We don't sell, rent or share your information, and there's no mailing list.

The photo

Every letter includes a photograph of the finished page, taken on the desk before it's sealed, sent to you. That picture contains your words. We take it, send it to you, and don't use it for anything else without asking you first.

Your choices

Email us to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Depending on where you live you may have a formal right to those things; we'll honour the request either way and won't charge for it.

Children

This isn't a service for children. Don't order if you're under 13.
