Terms

Pigeon & Pen is run by ICE TEA LLC, a Florida limited liability company. Ordering a letter means you agree to what's below. It's short on purpose.
What you're buying
One letter, copied out by hand onto paper by a person, sealed in an envelope, stamped, and mailed through the United States Postal Service as First-Class Mail. You supply the words and the delivery address; we supply the hand, the materials and the postage.
Capacity is forty letters a week. Paying buys a place in that week's queue, not a specific delivery date.
Price and payment
Prices are shown before you pay and depend on length and destination. Payment is taken at checkout by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
What we won't write
Every letter is read by a person before it's written. We will refuse anything threatening or harassing, and anything addressed to someone who has asked not to be contacted. A refused letter is refunded in full.
By ordering you confirm the words are yours to send and that you have no reason to believe the recipient objects to hearing from you. Our return address goes on the envelope, so this matters to us.
We may refuse or refund any order, for any reason, without having to explain ourselves.
Delivery
First-Class Mail has no tracking number. Nobody — including us — can tell you where a letter is once it's in the box. Typical delivery is two to five days inside the United States and seven to twenty-one days elsewhere. Those are estimates, not promises, and the postal service is not ours to control.
If a letter hasn't arrived thirty days after we mailed it, tell us and we'll write and send it again, free, once.
Mistakes
We copy your letter as you typed it. A misspelling in your draft is a misspelling on the page. Check the address before you pay — once a letter is written and mailed we can't get it back, and a wrong address isn't something we can refund.
Your words
Your letter stays yours. We use it only to write and mail your letter. We don't publish it, sell it, or use it for advertising or to train anything.
Where we stand if something goes wrong
We'll always refund what you paid if we've failed you. Beyond that, to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits anything that can't legally be limited.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts sitting there.
Changes
If we change these terms, the version in force for your order is the one published when you paid.
